Laukontori is a market place located in the southern part of Tampere city center, on the shores of Lake Pyhäjärvi. It is also located just a few hundred meters from Tampere Central Square. The shores serves as a harbor for cruise ships to Viikinsaari and Hämeenlinna in the summer.

Kehräsaari is a shopping and business center located in the Nalkala, between Laukontori and Koskikeskus in Tampere. Kehräsaari has once been an island with a needle factory and then a spinning mill. Today, Kehräsaari has e.g. restaurants and the Niagara Cinema.

The Tampere Christmas Market, which has been held since 2008, is an atmospheric and traditional event where good things were preserved and where you can always find something new. During Christmas, Tampere Christmas Market can be found at Keskustori at the intersection of Hämeenkatu and Aleksis Kivi streets.
